"a good little town - a really great place"

Time for the 17th Annual German Fest

in historic Guttenberg IA

We're dreaming of castles on the Rhine, the steady drone of the motor boat slipping through the waves,

tinkling glasses filled with homemade wine and a mug of ice cold beer brewed specially in Guttenberg.

The aroma of new sauerkraut and brats can tantilize the palate.

And a fresh piece of fruit pie and ice cream can make you feel satisfied.

Add some colleagues for fun, some music played by our German Band

and we'll soon have a perfect recipe for German Fest in Guttenberg.

Friday evening, Sept 21, 2007

begins with a Hog Roast Dinner at 5:30pm with all the trimmings by Clayton Ridge Farms

Music at 8pm by the "Horsin' Around" Band and Dance until midnight.

September 22, 2007

Do you create wine or homebrew beer?  If so take this opportunity to get an honest opinion of your work.  A panel of crack judges have been selected to take their wide and varied drinking experience and pronounce judgment on your precious creations. Actually, all in fun there will be a contest for both homemade wine and beer.  You may place one entry in each category at the low cost of $2 per entry.   Ribbons will be awarded to class winners.
For wine, there are five categories:  sweet red grape, dry red grape, sweet white grape, dry white grape and nongrape wines.
